Sigma Alpha Epsilon or SAE for short was founded on March 9, 1856, at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. It is one of the oldest and largest national fraternities in the United States with over 300,000 members and counting. The mission of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is to promote the highest standards of friendship, scholarship, and service for our members based upon the ideals set forth by our Founders and as specifically enunciated in our creed, "The True Gentleman."
